Royal Society Grants for Sub-Saharan African scientists
The Royal Society, in partnership with the Department for International Development (DFID), has just opened the second round of applications for Programme Grants as part of its 'Royal Society – DFID Africa Capacity Building Initiative'.
Applications will be invited in three priority areas:
- Water & Sanitation
- Renewable Energy
- Soil-related Research
The main purpose of this new programme is to assist in strengthening collaborations between scientists based in sub-Saharan Africa.
The awards will support research consortia of one UK lab and three African labs with up to just over £1.2million over five years. Applications will have to be submitted by 19 March 2015.
